EVENT BARN

Driggs, Idaho •  1,755 sq. ft

Currently under construction, this barn evolved from merely a place to store vehicles, tools and toys into an event venue. Our clients would like to provide a special place for various venues, and to hold family events. Inspired by E. Fay Jones’ Thorncrown Chapel near Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the delicate wood structural frame with open sides and abundant glazing will provide a unique ambiance and experience, connecting people to the natural beauty outside.

The spacious interior will seat up to 160 guests and will include a bar area and an elevated loft for a band. Sliding barn doors on steel tracks on the sides of the structure will allow for both the summer breeze and guests to flow. A double-sided stone fireplace set in a curtain glass wall will keep people cozy and a covered patio with pergola will provide additional entertaining space.

Glulam beams, a moment frame and tension cables insure the structure integrity. Rustic siding will add the right touch to integrate the barn fittingly into the rural landscape, while a metal standing seam roof will cover the whole.
